Dr. Jessica Tsou ("zo") attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and received a Bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. She obtained a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from Nova Southeastern University with areas of training in insight-oriented therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, neuropsychology, and medical/rehabilitation psychology.
She has helped hundreds of different patients with all varieties of psych and medical diagnoses during her time at major acute trauma hospitals in Fort Lauderdale and Miami, residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center, and recent work at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital.
As a child of first generation immigrants, Dr. Tsou lives and understands the minority experience, and therefore, she is culturally sensitive and affirms all genders, races, sexualities, and ethnicities.
As a psychologist, she has an integrated clinical orientation, meaning that she utilizes a variety of interventions from complementary evidence-based practices. She is trauma-informed and aware of societal and systemic issues that may impact our wellbeing and mental health. The majority of her work in trauma is related to medical/rehab events. She is passionate about helping people through mental health concerns toward growth and fulfillment. Her therapeutic approach is honest, practical, and at times humorous.
While not at work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, video games and puzzles, and all things dogs.
